Testing of the new MAD-system

MAD-System][

see first experiment with MAD-system][

The old MAD-system requires a van to transport it (left). The new system fits in the car of Hans Meester (right)
Hans de Koning and Sander van der Meer unload the van; lector Karim Bennamar visits us today.

The old system is mounted in the middle of the pool to enable proper wave measurement. Therefor the pump of the old system is visible. The new system is fixed to the side of the pool using (red) crates filled with water.

Johan Kenkhuis (he set a world best time on 50 m) will test MAD-system][

MADsystem][ allows swimming in two directions. It is designed not only for measurement of power and drag, but for training too.
Previously we demonstrated that training on this system improves race times for 50, 100 and 200 m front crawl.

Frits de Vries and Hans Meester (r) (who constructed MAD-system][) get feedback from the swimmers.
"MADsystem][ looks great and the pads are larger which 'feels' much better"
