Huub Toussaint studied Human Movement Science and Medicine; earned a PhD in 1988 ("Mechanics and Energetics of Swimming"). He is "lector" at the Academy for Physical Education of the University of Professional Education Amsterdam, associated professor of Biomechanics at the Faculty of Human Movement Science of the Vrije University and visiting professor at the Faculty of Human Movement Science, Technical University of Lisbon.

Wieger Mensonides studied Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University Delft and earned a MSc in 1970. He won a bronze medal at the 1960 Olympics (200 m breast stroke) After retiring as a teacher of among other things information technology he developed software in which he combined his knowledge of fluid dynamics and his programming skills with his experience as swimmer and coach. He has been the 'technical advisor' of the Philips swimming team for the last 7 years analysing (and correcting) the technique of Pieter van den Hoogenband and Inge de Bruijn.

Baukje Wiersma (M.D.) As part of her training "Sports Medicine", Baukje completed a research term 'exercise physiology' in the Swimming Research Center Amsterdam. She re-vitalised the maximal oxygen uptake measurements in the pool (see pool pictures) and designed and organised the maximal oxygen uptake tests on the bicycle in the lab. (see lab pictures). Both tests are now incorporated in the standard test suite of the Swimming Research Center Amsterdam.
